Car broken into last night...
Gday lads and lasses.... Some lowlife cheeky fu(kor/s broke into my car last night and stole a number of items that I used to own.
Happened on Douglas av in south perth and they had decided the easiest way into my car was to smash the front drivers side window. So, if anybody hears of a Escort Passport 8500 radar detector with no cords or an iriver H340 (running rockbox) with an external battery pack with 4 aa rechargeable batts in it going for cheap cheap good price... please take notice and let me know. 2 other items were nabbed also, my wallet (brown leather oroton) and my house keys. Very inconvenient.... Cheers, Red. |

edit: gone are the days where you could sleep with the doors open. but yeah man things like that should be hidden away. still a total bummer.

I hate to say it, but if you had all those items in plain view from outside your car you were pretty much asking for someone break in. All it takes is for them to see one thing of value (kids will even break in cars for just change in your ashtray) and they will just smash and grab all it takes a few seconds. I always hide anything of value including Cd's when ever I park.

Locksmith is here now sorting out my house... otherwise I would have been sleeping in the lounge room with a cricket bat in my hand...
The only thing visible from the outside of my car was the detector... the rest was an unknown bonus for them and the more I think about it the more im thinking they were disturbed, either by me or somebody else. There was a dodgy looking white van across rd when I went out there with 4 dodgy looking occupants at 7 in the morning, got their rego and added it with my report to the cops. Cheers Y'all. |

I always take my detector with me or leave it out of sight. As Sethor says do not give them any reason at all.
hope your right about the white van and something comes of it! |

last year my home was broken into and my work bag stolen, which contained the keys to my ungaraged GC8. the car didn't get touched that night, but they came back the next night with the keys and a plan. i expected them to return, so i had parked my Honda behind the GC8. they smashed the Honda's windows and rolled it far away, and then went to open the GC8... no go! i had changed the locks and alarm already. lucky for me they didn't key or damage the car in anger but i guess they did break into the house 3 times after that... moral of the story -- change your locks and alarm ASAP!
