Default guess what i did!!!

filled the nissan terrano turbo diesel with 65L of unleaded fuel
drove car home, just made it to the drive way, was shuddering all the way home, then died...about half an hour later of trying to fix it, smelled the fuel cap and sure enough, THAT AINT DIESEL! , have emptyed the tank and leaving it for a while to evaporate left over fuel, the will put a jerry of diesel in it and hope for the best. anything else i should do to help it?? will the carby gurgle what unleaded is left in the lines then be ok???

that aint cool - you now have a new nick-name.

Diesel

best suggestion is to get it checked professionally, straight ULP to a diesel can cause significant damage, especially on a hot day

this happened to a friend of mine up north, he spent 3 nights at AUSKI's road house before he had the courage to drain the tank- fortunatley no damage.

change the diesel filter and pump its primer untill only diesel comes out. Then you will know you have cleared the lines of all the petrol. Im supprised you made it home. i didnt think that petrol would ignite that well with just compression.

This is probably the best way to be nice to your motor! it shouldnt be too bad, ive seen people do this before and the car has been fine, i guess it all just depends on how far you had to drive will depend on how much damage you did!!

we get this happen often at work. We just drain everything out and then fill it with petrol or diesel depending on what the car was meant to take we have no problems with doing that. Although you would be best to do what whiterx said as well

My sister did that once. All she did was bleed the fuel lines and manually prime it. Those old toyota hilux uts are unbreakable though.

Some unit at work filled a truck up with petrol. When was the last time you have seen a new unleaded truck? Anyway. Mechanic blew out all the fuel lines / changed fuel filter / filled it up with diesel and all was well.

Keep us updated.
