BN01 - city mode apparently dulls the sensitivity somewhat in a bid to reduce
the falses.

as mentioned before highway is always the best to go.

Cheers for clearing that up. Think RX65 is a goer for me. It seems to do the job.

You will get better Multanova range on the Bel RX65 if you mount the detector vertically like this: |

instead of this way: --

(the normal way)

This is because the Multanova's radar beam is polarized 90 degrees opposite to the way the detector's antenna is polarized in the radar detector when it is sitting (normally) on your windscreen. When you align the antenna with the same polarization as the radar beam (Multanova) you will increase your range by up to 50%. Normal hand-held radar and dash mounted radar are not polarized, so rotating your detector will not have any negative or positive affects.

You can see how this works on a video here: http://www.delonixradar.com.au/videos/index.html

(It is the last video under the Escort vids, and the last two under the Bel vids)

Hope this helps!
