A good reason to make sure you put the bung in your boat (pics inside!)

This arvo Feral and I boarded the HMAS FISH FINGER and we headed out to dive for a few crays and chase a salmon or three...

Killa night for it, flat ocean, nice sunset and a few fish to keep us interested to boot!.

Anyways we decided to call it quits about sunset and as we came into the marina at Woodman Point we came across these clowns.

Short story is they forgot the bung. Filled with water, lost steering, hit rocks (large amount of damage) and they bailed out.

We made sure they were alright, called water police and sea rescue and then i took some pics. I'll upload more tonight. You might also notice the dude who went back into the cabin to get his gear

Have to say it was a very funny day , but it didnt stop there , got asked by a bloke if i was a diver and then he explained that he had lost a pair of shorts which contained a wallet with around 1000 dollars and a big bunch of keys . But then explained to me if i found his shorts i could keep the money so names and numbers exchanged and dive planned for friday , ha ha and had one dive this arvo at shag rock and no crays , so if anyone dives pm me and ill take you out in the finger always after divers/ fisherman . cheers feral

not quite sure ludwig eh , i know that the cost of salvage will be high and the only good thing about it was his fuel tanks floated to the surface and no oil fuel was spilt

a bung is the term for the rubber or cork plug which you take out to drain the water from your boat all new boats use a plastic screw assembly

How could you recover this boat. You could use a crane as its right up next to the motorway. So it shouldnt be too difficult. Dry it out in the Sun, fix the water logged motor and your back on your way. :)

Strap a heap of empty water tight 44 gallon drums to it and it will float enough to be towed back to the ramp.

Well that's my thinking anyway :p
