Yeh my next door neighbour is a calm scientist heavily involved in baiting /1080 feral animals so i know the ins and outs... That said, we'll see what the rangers say!! I dont condone voilence towards anything but if my dog is being attacked i will do what i need to do. I'd expect the same from most other pet owners. My dogs ok, he's tough and he did worse damage when he destroyed a wood fence and fell 6ft into a garden below Like i said the worse part was the owner watching from the window..

As for dad, hes fine but the fact that out of a busload of passengers very few people are actually willing to stand up for someone whos being beaten up... Pretty low IMHO

Funny you mentioned that Matt, cos a similar incident has been all over the news lately.

Something about an autistic kid being bashed repeatedly on a bus - the bus driver stops. The natives proceed to follow the kid off the bus, bash him some more, and steal his MP3 player.

And the dog thing gets me jsut as angry. I walk my dog on the lead at all times on the street and only ever take him off the lead at the park if htere is no one around, as soon as i see a person or another dog he is back on the lead, not cause he is angry but because he thinks every dog/person wants to play and pat him when we all knwo that isnt the case. He is only 12 months and a happy little guy. I havent had any problems yet but i know the sht your talking about and if any dog attacks him they are fukn toast as well as the owner.

I live and work in Northbridge. I have to deal with people like this on a weekly basis.

Yes its a sign of the times unfortuneatley, people have no respect for themselves or other people. What happened to the good old days when you stepped out of line, and your old man strightened you out when he got home.... I just don't understand how society can change so quickly.

Mat, would of advise about your pup, make sure you keep socialising him with other dogs as your young fella is still within his "secondary fear" period and the last thing you want is accidents like yesterday having a detrimental or lasting affect on him. I am still very conscious of making sure my young bitch has plenty of new positive experiences to build her confidence, last thing you want is a fearful pup.

Somethings wrong with people in Perth I recon.

The other week I had some young guy walk right up to my face and just stand there staring for about 20 seconds for no reason. I decided to walk away as he was looking at me and over my shoulder. This at 5:30pm on hay street mall. There is a a lot of useless agro people around town it seems lately. Not sure if its this new ice craze but its messed up.

I walked all over Europe at all hours of the night and never felt threatened once, even carrying a lot of expensive camera gear. Here I wouldn't do it.

my speculation is Perth has some serious drug problems, not saying other places don't but its pretty socialyl accepted to get on the gear and pop pills every weekend.

Of course the soft approach by law enforcement doesnt help things either. Thats not the avg cop on the beat either its the justice system and top cops who make the decisions etc.

nah thats fukt, happened to me once my maltese was walkin and this GSD ran out, i lifted her of the floor by the colar and dad jumped in front making himself look as big as possible with arms in the air waving saying like ohhh tointimidate the dog, it worked he halted and just looked....shat myself me and strange dogs dont get along....

once i was running down this road chasing my cousin, all i hear is my other cousins screamin "STOP"... I am like "nah i am gonna catch him",
I happened to look back and there is this huge German Shepard running after me....I think this is the point where i wet myself
I just stopped and stood still the dog came upto me sniffed walked around and then just looked, and ran home....

Definately call the Ranger, its only a matter of time till Its a child...better to be safe than sorry!!!

I too drive a bus and I would've done the exact same thing your old man did. Only I would've kept the doors shut so he couldn't run till I'd got my point accross. Mag torch FTMFW. People think they can get away with anything these days because no-one will stand up to them. I once stopped some guy running through Midland Gate after he took someone's purse out of her bag while she was eating in the food court. Crime of oppourtunity that I saw in action. End result? Sore ribs from a shirtfront I gave him and a black eye and bloody nose for his trouble. Security came and got him, thanked me and so did the old lady. No reward though, damn
