Let me know how you go, mine keeps coming up doing self cals once a fortnight...

saturation 16-11-2007 10:38 AM

cool thanks guys, will ask Jezza.

MY99 17-11-2007 12:09 AM

Self cal is the first stage, you might get service required later which renders ur escort useless. If you bought from delonixradar (jezza) I know he'll replace it straight away otherwise good luck! For everyone else with no warranty keep it out of the sun!!!

I don't know with the escorts, but i had a BEL that used to spit up random errors and shit when it was hot. IE when you left it on the windscreen. If you put it in front of the air con and let it cool, it worked fine...

yeah from reading around i get the impression its the heat/cool cycle that seems to kill them over time, Jezza has kindly offered a replacement while he sends mine for servicing so will see how we go.

Has served me for a good 2 years, push comes to shove i might just cough up for the new Escort 9500.

jezzamcbezza 17-11-2007 10:48 PM

Jas, don't get the 9500 - they are shit at detecting Multanovas.

X50 in vertical position FTW saved my arse again this weekend on drive out to the country! Gave me a good warning well before he had a chance to get me.

Funny enough since contacting Jezza about servicing Radar has been behaving itself, ironic huh.

Got K alert way before on freeway and then Ka too, use to always get the feeling radar isnt performing with all this self cal shit.

I think i will send it for servicing soon anyway though.

Yeah definitely get it serviced mate - just imagine how pissed off you'd be if you got done because your detector wasn't performing the way it should.

X2 buddy - mine's dominating those multanovas haha.

Hey guys i no its slightly off topic...
But i got a Bel RX65 that comes up with this message after it being on for about 10 seconds.

"Servicecal4"

Then it starts flashing "Service Needed" or "Service Required"

I got this one in a group buy through Pwrx a while back and I called a few placed but they said they wont service it cause its not from oz (group buy was from the US).

Has anyone got any ideas or any contacts that can do a cashy?

Cheers,

Paul

Neltronics are stubbon and won't service Bels that didn't come through them (with their high price tags). Try australianradar.com.au (Roy Zegas) - he has all the repair gear.

The internal clip which clamps onto the bracket.mount on my Escort X50 has snapped off just out of everyday vibrations.

Any ideas Jezza? Replacements available - How much?

jezzamcbezza 19-11-2007 10:35 PM

New cover posted tonight
