Haha that would be about right.

I was ready to hit the sack at 12 then i would lay there and think " I bet its starting now" so i would get up. This went on for 45 min haha

The place to look is in the constellation of Gemini (hence the name Geminids), the easiest way is look for Mars which is in Gemini at this time, ya can't miss it. The radiant point is close to Castor & Pollux, the 2 brightest stars in Gemini.

Saw several last nite, they are a relatively slow moving meteor around 1 or 2 every minute... some of them are quite bright and leave lasting trails.
