This is my girl Stacey an Australian Kelpie we rescued from K9 about 7 yrs ago she was 1yo when we got her . She is an epileptic but I love her to death . Some wanker dumped her,her two brothers and a sister in a box at the end of a no through road .. Just by chance someone came across them and they were all adopted from K9.

These are my two greyhounds Syd and Jill Syd the fawn one. He is one of the bigger boys I have seen measuring around 70CM tall (the top of his back) and 38KG. Jill is a little smaller measuring 62cm and 28KG.
We are only fostering Jill until she is adopted and then we will get another dog to foster.

I can't recommend these dogs enough, they are just amazing animals. The outlay for a retired dog is only $350 which includes a lead, all vet injections / inspection, microchip, etc. They generally are 2 - 4 years old when they are in the adoption process so they are still young and playful.

Here's my nutbag Bindi, her name was Lindi but I wasn't keen on it, I just can't work out how nobody took her in the 6 months, she's really weird with other dogs, she wags her tale, doesn't growl or get her heckles up but snaps at them like a stealth crocodile, I think the other dogs drove her a little insane with their incessant barking but she's good with people though tends to ignore them like she doesn't care if she gets a pat or not.

Beautiful dogs but do they take long to adjust to being treated as part of a family and can you trust them off the leash?

Often thought of getting one.

They adjust fairly quickly because they are fostered (like we are with Jill) for at least 2 weeks before bein rehoused. They learn to interact with people and other dogs really quickly, but they adjust to new people really well.

It took Syd less then a day to get use to us and our house after being in the system 4 months. Jill took a little longer we got her within 12 hours of being surrendered to the adoption group.

I don't let Syd off leash purely because of his size, he isn't rough with dogs but he forgets he is a big boy so can overwhelm them quickly. He is getting better but he is older so takes persistent outings to be trained... And he does not like going for walks longer then 5 minutes before he starts to put the brakes on and stop walking.

Jill is at a good ages for adoption, we have house trained her and she picks up really quickly. Regardless of age they are all great house dogs and require minimal backyard and exercise. They are also super chilled and not aggressive at all, despite the reputation to kill small animals and be aggressive with other dogs. They are completely the opposite!! Syd has played with a Husky, a Belgium Shepard, Boarder Collie and plenty of greyhounds without incident. He also loves kids... They are perfect snuggle size for him.

They do require a lot of attention because once you let them into your life they will try to follow you everywhere... I can't leave a room without a personal escort and when I reach my destination they find a spot and lay down. For dogs which are socially neglected by some of the previous owners (not always but some are) they really do respond well to human contact straight away.

My 2 little princesses that came back from Qld with us. Introducing Mia (red) and Jet (black). Mia was a rescue. Had been dumped at a country pound in NSW. CRQ saved her. Jet came from Bundaberg.

No, they don't always wear party dresses, but they did look cute for their picture. :-D

We have a 18month old American staffy called astro and a mini sausage dog called graham. A funny mix but they get along great. 😊
