GT TDi ftw. Putting an order in soon

Edit: Btw, expect a 5 month wait if you're going to kit it out.

I drove the golf GTi before i got my WRX

I found it a fantastic car to drive! The quality of the fit and finish is fantastic, i found the gearbox and seats to be fantastic aswell.
There was also less turbo lag than the WRX

As for the reason i chose the WRX over the golf
Well i would get the golf if i needed to do a lot of k's but as it stands i dont really do a whole heap of k's with my car and i found the WRX a funner place to sit in basically.
When i drove the golf i felt a lot older and refined when i drove it. but when i drove the wrx it always put a smile on my face.

I too am trying (very) hard not to get a white 3 door GT diesel DSG dumped hard on RS4 19's.....

Very nice cars if you want something a bit more refined.

I know 3door GTi has got a long lead time as they are made in Germany and the 5door GTi are made in SA.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

we bought the 4 door GT Sport TSI - 6 speed dsg, bi-xenons, leather seats. The seats are excellent in terms of snug fit but they are no recaro's. No lag with this baby and supercharger is going at 800 rpm and turbo quicks in around 3000 rpm and transition is smooth as a babies bottom. My wife is getting near on 600 kms to the tank on a 1.4 ltr petrol engine!!

Come over to watercooled forum if you want plenty of good tech info on GT, GTI, R32 etc as it's all there. Be prepared to wait 4-5 months if you want one ordered to your specs though.

What's the 1.4 worth?

Actually today I read that the GTi's are an excellent car according to 'Motor magazine' (Jan 08 i think)
$44k on road with options we wanted, not cheap but quality is there.
