Yup, theres bugger all of them around. I had been keeping my eye open for about a month. Bought it the day after it popped up on carsales. A few more povopacks than S's, but its probably worth the extra 2k for the extra airbags.

Bugger that. Mum had one and they were ok but there were quite a few little niggles that Gardners used to charge the earth to fix.

Just try and get diesel, by end of next year you will know why buying diesel now is smart choice.
Because anything euro is roughly twice the maintence of anything japanese. And the diesel's are twice again

Smart choice

Anyway, i would say that a mazda 3 is a good choice, but with some quirks and funny mechanical designs coming nodobut from ford europe.

Subaru liberty is a good choice, you will easily pick one up, and they are a great car to own, low on maintence and hold good resale.

As someone on here mentioned saab 9-3 turbo are great value, and are one of the better euro's in terms of maintence. Just a little flimsy to drive.
Suzuki swift, also a great car aswell for the price. good for maintence too.

Golfs are ok, but you will forever be doing window regulators, ignition switches, starter motors and having bits of trim fall to bits, rub off etc.

Hyundai i30 - can't beat it for value.

But I'd prefer a Golf FSI - TDI is not worth it.
