My New Toy
Hi everyone,
Had a few people PM me about this after I posted up my tow bar thread. Seems that there are a fair few PWRX'ers with off road bikes! Here is my new toy...came up at the right price, with the right amount of mods that I was looking for. It's something different to my WRX too, which is good when I want to do something off the road rather than cruise around on the road Basically I don't need to do a thing to it, apart from a few little bits n pieces to get her exactly the way I want. Mods: Aftermarket front bumper Full length chassis skid plate Rear sprocket/disk protector IMS Roll Design pegs IMS shift lever Billet grille Billet fuel cap Trimmed plastics, originally white painted matte black Narva LED rear brake light Lightforce spot lights Pro-taper bars Reinforced frame (flat bar welded in around the top tube where the radiator mounts to). Reinforced rear swing arm (flat bar welded in between the axle mounts) Black powdercoated frame Silver powdercoated swing arm and front suspension arms Elka front coil-over shocks Paddle tyres on original rear rims K&N filter with pre-filter Mikuni single flat-slide carb Trinity 1 into 2 billet intake manifold V-Force 3 carbon fibre reeds Bored .030 and fitted with Wiseco pistons Pro-circuit tuned pipes and mufflers (painted wrinkle black) PWR Radiator Adjustable timing plate New sprockets, 1 tooth higher on front New O-Ring chain Durablue axle In the pics, it had normal tyres on it, but they were borrowed from the original owners friend just so he could show the bike to people (i.e. test ride on the street). The bike came with paddles on the rear once it was sold. YES, she needs some nerf bars....setup for dune and sand riding, for some reason those sorts of machines never have nerfs or plastics on them. Looks damn kewl, but for safety reasons, the nerf's are going to be added. Sean, Clint, Bobbo and myself hit the dunes up at Ledge last weekend.. Needs a few bits and pieces done to it, to get it perfect....fit the rear brake light, some normal rear tyres on rims and rear caliper rebuild (its a bit leaky). I'm also going to strip it down as much as I can without removing any major bits and clean her up (very hard to get the sand out even with a high pressure cleaner!) If there is enough interest, we might organise a PWRX ride day somewhere Last edited by BALISTC; 27-05-2008 at 11:41 PM. |
