i will hopefully be joining the team next semester as a pre-thesis to start my roject with them in 2009.

Fred isn't the only member on P-WRX involved with Uwa Motorsport :) Currently doing my thesis on the 2008 car.

Certainly a lot of work goes into these cars though; some people fail units and don't finish their thesis just to get a car out on time! Dedication and a lot of long nights throughout the year. Was a tight competition but everything just fell into place by the end. First couple days of competition didn't go as planned as the guys couldn't really get the best out of the car. Heck our drivers did their fastest laps on their warmup laps too (would have been enough to win some of the other events). Left wondering what could have been going into the final day. But for the last event (endurance) it all came good and we came away with the overall win! Was a tense wait at the workshop (20 or 30 of us gathered) having beers waiting for confirmation. Just after midnight we got the call.

Heres hoping we can do it again and be the first team back to back champions! It just so happens next year the world champs are at the Australian event... We get to fight on our terms! Don't have to re tune our car to their shitty fuel / climate!

its amazing how far the cars have come since the first one.

A friend of mine that I play ball with is also involved. Jack Lu for those of you who would know the names. He was over the moon to say the least.
