VE SS-V or BF FPV Typhoon?

Going to be buying a new car and have had my eye on the VE SSV for a while now, however, I was browsing at Lane Ford here in Mandurah and they have a number of '08 BF Typhoons going cheap.

Interested in opinions of those who've driven both cars or who own one or the other. Particularly interested in your opinion Ramon, of what you thought of your phoon when it was stock (for that brief part of its life!).

Whichever I buy, it will be an auto, if that helps.

Definately the F6, especially if your going auto (the average driver seems quicker down the quarter in the 6 speed auto then the manual  )

I recon Dan might have something to say about the F6's... but that might have just been his one!

I would go the SSV, just to suggest something different. I like the looks of a nice white VE with big brakes and big wheels!! hot!

Yeah, thats where I'm at Kym. The SSV has more appeal to me in looks and more potential for cheap styling mods. But I just thought for the performance, 55k driveaway for an 08 FPV was worth considering.

I've always been a ford man, but when the VE came out, I feel in love with it's styling and overall tough look. The SSV is fkn dear for what it is though. I was quoted 58k d/away, which was for a manual!! 2k more for auto, but that of course is retail so no doubt there would be some movement.

The one thing I've noticed since I've been looking, is how pricey cars are in general these days! Considered an R32 Golf or a Mini Cooper S for something different, but fuck me, those are some expensive cars for compact's.

Usually a Holden fan, But... Turbo > All

Just wind the boost up a bit and it will fly! :D

Why would you get a new commodore?
If you wait for a year you will be able to pick up the same thing for 40-45k.

because every car I've had has been second hand, this time I can afford new, so why not! Have always wanted a car where I am its first owner!!

Depreciation on a new SS-V will hurt. But depends how long you want to keep it.

What about an FG XR6 Turbo? Getting rave reviews and has to be the best bang for the buck.
