just like "traffic calming devices"

which clown thought the safest thing to do was put large immobile objects in the middle of the road to make it safeR?

Drove along there yesterday... bloody shocking! Be much better off with a low smooth asphalt bump... same effect but without the added effect of pissing off drivers. They have those big rubber things up near my house. PITA!

There is some company going round Perth convincing councils to put down these monstrosities everywhere under the guise of "road safety". We had a council meeting about "road safety" last year to discuss what could be done to make the local roads safer. We thought we'd be talking about pretty median strips with trees etc but what the meeting was really about was the company making a pitch to put these mats down on the road!

Conspiracy I say! haha

I went through that section of road this arvo, what a fucking joke, if you have anything other then a 4x4 you have to slow way down. Glad I didn't go through there during peak hour
One set of these I could stand but there are like 6 odd sets in 100m!!

i havent been to those shops in a while, have they just put them in, or are u talking about the ones that have been there for a few years now? I struggle on some of those ones as it is, if they have made them bigger and more of them, im going to have to avoid the carpark all together!

Jesus they must be massive then!

Yeah those speedhumps on Fitzgerald are a joke, or a major arterial road leading out of our CBD.
