Jailbreaking an Ipod Touch software 2.0
So I've ran the pwnage tool to jailbreak my ipod touch software version 2.0. Anyone have any suggestion on what to do after it's been jailbroked?
I'm just sitting here thinking "Alright....I've jailbroken my Ipod Touch"......so now what? |
Wait till the applications get updated to the FW2.0 software.
Currently only a few applications in Cydia work. Installer.app 4.0 is still in development. |

Yeah, did it for a mate the other day. Follow this guide: http://www.appleiphoneapps.com/2008/07/how-to-newbies-guide-to-winpwn-20-jailbreak/ Just make sure that you take the sim card after creating your custim ipsw and before going into DFU mode to "pwn" (before step 16). Put the sim card back in before activating in itunes though (after step 16). The guide doesn't tell you that you won't have reception unless you do this! Not all that useful for the 3G, there aren't very many apps available. We didn't put installer on though as it's apparently still a work in process, only cydia. |
Does it matter if the phone is currently lock or its best to unlock it first before you jailbreak it?

doesnt matter. jailbreak does not equal unlocking. you can have a jailbroken phone that is still locked, like me. |
anyone has jailbreak their 2.1 yet?
|
Yup...jailbroken the 2.1 already
|
Yeah, 2.1 > the other 2.0 shite. SMS typing speed is back up to the 1.1.3 days.
