Good Car Audio shop in Perth?
I'm chasing a specific Ipod adapter (Denison) for my car. There are a few types out there, but as far as I know Denison are the only ones that make one that shows artist/track on the stereo display. Anyone know of any decent Car Audio shops that would stock and possibly fit Ipod Adapters. (Not FM Transmitters). I went to a place in J'loop and he looked at me blankly when I mentioned Ipod adapter. I also phoned Stratfield and the 14 yr old on the phone was pretty clueless.

only $140 and pretty straight forward to install yourself :) got one for the mazda edit: give them a call and make sure it will work with your car first :) says VW though... |

And it only lets you use 5 playlists. The Denison actually displays artist name and song title which is pretty handy with a big Ipod. They're not cheap though $400. |
hmmm i thought it did show the artist+title...i might be wrong. Might depend on the car/stereo then

Yea more the stereo. All the Alpine one's I've had with I-pod control have been full speed and used the standard Alpine cable. Track/Album/Artist show on the screen in that order. If you get one with a screen it will show everything at the same time as well as the pic of the cover so long as you already have it on the I-pod of course.

That sounds awesome. I've heard that there are stereos now with hard drives which is pretty cool. Makes the Ipod defunct. I'm going to keep the OEM stereo for the time being and just go with an adapter. Might change it later on down the track. This is the bad boy: http://www.dension.com/icelinkgateway500.php |
once you get it installed, can you let me know what you went for and where you got it....2nd car needs an upgrade and dont think xcarlink will work

yeah i don't think it will be cheap. You may be better off getting a new head unit that already has IPOD connectivity e.g Alpine. The only reason I'm not doing that is because I want to keep the interior stock. I'll let you know what I end up doing anyway and let you know costs. I think the Denison allows you to hook up external flash and hard drives too, which is pretty awesome. |
yeah the xcarlink does that too but i guess it depends on the stereo whether the title/artist will be displayed. I too wanted to keep the OEM look, let us know how you go
