I just re-install my apps after upgrading firmware.

A lot of stuff is sometimes broken by the new firmware, so it is best to get the new version. (The 1.X -> 2.0 days were boring since none of the apps worked)

sounds like you are having a lot of bad luck ! Dans business/family have 6 iphones between them all and none have had any issues... I love the iphone ! apart from its shithouse battery life - but hey thats what a car charger is for.

2.2 software fucked the battery life up, 2.1 was really good I struggle to get a day out of it now. I think they must be playing around with notification services in turn using more power (so I heard).

You can turn location services off in general settings and that gives me 2 odd days of use happily. I was going to roll back to 2.1 but hopefully they sort it out soon.

Upgrade to 2.2 using iTunes

I just reinstalled mine after using QuickPWN to upgrade. Might be a better way but not sure yet.

if 2.2 is that bad is it worth upgrading?

im only looking to do it because some of the app upgrades wont run on 2.1 anymore.

Everytime my phone syncs i get the errors message that says this program is not compatible with this iphone

2.2 gave me better battery, better signal, faster typing in sms (nearly back to 1.1.4 days).

Can't see any reason not to upgrade.

You serious better battery? 99.99999999% of people say its crap, you must be very very lucky, have you got 3G, WIFI, and location turned off too?

I have an original iPhone, so 3G/GPS is turned off by default

Wifi and bluetooth on all the time tho.

Aha get you now , lucky for some hehe. Try a 3G IPhone and try make it through a day or normal use :\. I almost need to carry a generator around with me.

2.2 is more stable though and much faster so no point going backwards, lets hope 2.3 solves all these issues.

I just upgraded to 2.2 and have no problems.

Definitely getting better battery.
