Default Tarmac Rally???

Apparently the guys that organise the Targa West are possibly doing a event called the 2006 Quit Busselton Tarmac Rally??? has anybody seen or heard anything about this?

This event would be fantastic on the roads around the area, could possibly be running as a support to the ARC round in 2006.

There are rumours that the local council was gonna turn the Busselton Forest Rally SS Stage into a permanent thing for racing but I doubt it would get thru.

Re: Duttons.......word is that if you have a codriver in the car they can only travel with you during transport. Upon arrival to the stage you gotta 'tip em out', do the run as a solo driver then they get back in the car for transport again.

Fark paying $600 for that little excercise as a transport nav only!! Possibly worth it as a codriver but not sure if you get to do all the stages or if you have to share them with the driver & only get to do half of them.... meh!

Dutton:
A Co-Driver is badly named for the Dutton, they should be called Driver #2. The way Dutton works is that you both go the set of stages (say 4). The Co gets out and watches the driver burn rubber. Then they come in and you swap. The Co then does the same stages in the same order.

So let's say there are 28 competitve stages in the Dutton, the car will 56 launches over the 3 days in Feb heat.

Feel free to ask more Dutton related questions, or may be worth starting a new thread.

On this thread, I like the sound of this. If anyone finds anything more about this Busso event let us know.

Sounds great Dan, but what if im the only driver and my nav is purely a passenger, can they stay in the car with me on the competition runs?

Nope Jamie. All comp runs are driver only. There is no nav in the Dutton, just transport to and from the stages which so far is Barbagallo, AHG and Quit Motorplex.

Nah trust me Matt, Dutton is the Shizzle. Makes Classic Rally look amateur. Had one of the best track weekends ever when I did Dutton Vic this year.

If you want to take you co-driver along for the ride you will have to fork out the big $$$ and do Targa West.

Found out that they are having an info night next Wednesday 30th 7:30pm at the Jaguar Car Club Rooms 396 Scarb Bch Rd Osy Park.
