Very nice. Who did the paving? Did you consider liquid limestone? I'm looking at installing a pool early next year.
Any contacts/info appreciated.

they did the whole thing mate. Limestone wall, paving etc which was the big appeal of going with them.

Cheers Brent.
Forgot to mention Matty that I didn't really consider the liquid limestone due to the slight chance of ever having to dig up the pipes.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between a site survey and a contour survey.
Speaking to two builders and one is saying I need a site survey and it'll be around $500 and the other is saying I need a contour survey and it'll be around $850. Just wondering if he is charging more for something different or its the same thing.

ill have a quick go
A site survey shows the legal boundaries, service utilities and utility poles, dimensions of all property lines, easements, rights-of-way, trails, etc and a site survey shows the existing contours of the land, all significant topographic features of the property, including all faults, existing and proposed culverts, flood zones, slide areas and spot elevations for existing grades to the land. is it a new area or a older area??

So luke - the second paragraph where you mention site survey - should that be Contour survey?
If you get a site survey and contour survey does it cost more than a site survey only?

To me, a site survey would be pick up of buildings, fences, power poles, pits and other phenomena with a few extra ground shots to build a contour model. A contour survey would just be a quick grid to get a quick, cut/fill ratio so the builder knows how much sand to bring in or cart off to level the property. The price difference is what intrigues me. I doubt anyone would do either for $500. Also factor in if you want to get the property re-pegged at the same time. Which would involve the surveyors placing marks and pegs in the ground. Would cost a little more now, but would be cheaper than getting is done separately. Unless these are what the builders are going to charge you to perform these surveys, by their own engineering surveyors. In which case check your contract. Site preparation may be part of the contract, which would make the cut/fill the builder responsibility to establish. Otherwise, I work for Whelans. Give us a call on 9443 1511, and Lana (our brilliant receptionist) will put you through to someone who can organise and/or give you a quote for what is required. Any additional information you can share? Suburb, vacant lot? Have you seen any SSMs or SSA marks in line of site? If you PM me the address, I am willing to have a quickie look and tell you if it would be easy/hard to repeg. |
