Surprisingly, they haven't sold many of these. You can get brand spankin new 08 models now for a shade under $34k drive away at all dealerships. If you want all the nice options like sunroof, leather etc it pushes up to the best part of $40k, but they are different, handle great and have plenty of poke. Obviously you are chasing a really good deal by way of 'who you know' but just throwing it out there.

LOL, I got quoted that over 6 months ago for a 2008 model. If you were to pay that much you'd definitly be wanting a '2009' build on the plate. As fo the premium paint, you must be in love with the orange. It's the only paint that attracts a huge premium, something like $1800 All the other 'good' colors are only $300 or something. But that orange is mesmerizing Best of luck and pics of maccas tray skids if you end up getting one.

EDIT: If you haven't already found out about it try http://www.fordxr5turbo.com. There are some flash tuners and stuff available for them that really make the numbers, plus issues others have had, paint quality for one. (Just on the underside of the doors etc)

The 5-pot turbo is a good engine, and I love the XR5...only let down is torque steer/getting power down due to FWD only. Such a shame. But if you can get a good price, I would buy one. A mate works for Park Ford running the used car section. You could try talking to him. Name is Eddie Williams, I used to work with him selling cars.

Have you considered an MPS3? They are the same car except engine aren't they?

EDIT: If so there is one sitting at my old dealership, $31K drive away 10,000km on the clock.
