My gf's 21st is coming up in January and i thought i might take her on a hot air balloon flight with a bit of a breakfast or lunch thrown in to make it a nice day!

Anyone ever been? If so whats it like?
Anyone have any contacts or experiences with any companies?

Biggest concern is i HATE flying in general. I hate being that high up in the air as its a long way to fall to my death and i can think of dozens of other ways i'd much rather go..

Would make a pretty awesome present though!

But as you said, it is an awesome present, especially if your GF likes this sort of stuff. Its a guranteed "session" for gratitude!

Why not summer? To hot or scenary not as green as in winter / spirng etc?

I only fly if i really HAVE to and i'm prepared to do it as a once off for her!

Yes, it will be hot and the scenary IMHO is better when things are green

the flights are usually around the 530-6am
so it would be an idea to spend the night close to where the balloning is

autumn and spring is best
u can buy it as a voucher and its valid for 3-6 monnths (max 6), so you can do it this way

A company does it out of Jandakot Airport.
A work colleague went on one and she said it was fuckn brilliant. She went in January and the photos were amazing.

Another good one is hiring a pilot and a Cessna 310 or Piper Seminole and doing a night flight over perth, it is spectacular. Or even better, Go to jandakot helicopters, do the same but land in the city and get a limo or wrx to a nice hotel or something.
