Yeah right !!!!, this is a mainly modified car forum ,..isn't it ?
Modifying does not mean illegal.

Targa west cars still meet all the required road rules for their class, so that is a stupid comparison.

Unlicensed cars, cars sitting 10mm off the ground, 5 grade tint etc, whilst the car may "look" cool, is just asking for it going on a public cruise.

Remember most of the public does not like the 'hoons' cruising the streets.

I think the bit you missed was for their class. Many will have b-reg or temporary permits to run Targa.

(both legal and not) Cruise organisers give all the details of the cruise to the police. Cruise organisers expect police to ignore certain aspects of the cars participating as it is for charity. Such as whether it is registered, lowered too much, too much crap hanging off it etc..

Police would not give them an escort, as not enough man power... what happens instead? 2-4 traffic pol cars organise a little trap and defect a large majority of the 500 cars attending. All in a nice big line. One after the other.

Now I guess ya sort of had to be there and again can't give away any more than that. But I had a major LOL All around..

Especially given the fact they are commodores. But then again the tactics used were a bit nasty.

Opinions? thoughts? Musings?..

P.S some scummy car clubs were part of this larger mob.

Im guessing if Police were worried about winning friends they wouldn't be capable of doing their job. Imagine trying to someone best friend as you arrest them for bashing their wife........

On the permit and "illegal" vehicles on the road: how do you think all the mining equipment that is 2 or more lanes wide gets to the mine site? Im guessing it is not you usual legal width load. They get a permit and an escort and travel when they have permission to. Much the same for targa without the escort (all tho I could not vouch for no escorts (.)(.) being involved in Targa).

If the car isn't legal it shouldn't be on the road. Just because you want to be part of a fundraising cruise doesn't make it okay to break the laws of the road, no matter how trivial they seem to be and expecting the police to turn a blind eye because you are supporting a charity is rediculous.

If these bogans in their commodores are so keen on helping out a charity then there a bazillion was of doing so that involved leaving the shitbox at home in the garage. Thick f*cking Aussies.
Wanka rant
