Telstra Velocity

I will be building a house soon and have to use Telstra Velocity, my question is who can install the smart wiring through out the house? Have been told that i can only go through innovavtive living! They cant be the only people!?!?!

If anyone knows anyone else who can do the smart wiring please let me know.

Thanks

is this the same thing as clipsal cbus? if it is call up clipsal and they should be able to point you in the right direction as they train all the electricians that can do the cbus

Im in a Velocity estate and had ours hooked up by Phonehome Communications, I have
also spoken to quite a few other companies and they can all do installs.

The pricing plan for broadband is shit and you have no choice but to
use Telstra as they have the rights to the area and dont wholesale
to other providers!!!!

I'm in the same boat. Intelligent homes is such a rip off for what they do.

I'm still looking around, apparently there's another place in Bibra Lake which can do the same thing. I think pretty much any cabling company can do it, they're just not "Telstra Preferred".

blow up the exchange hardware.

Or start a class action lawsuit... being locked into telslut is bullshit.

Our house is due to finish in the next week. We are in a Telstra Velocity Area.
I pretty much designed the cabling layout for our house and had to explain to the electricians how to do it, so hopefully it all works :)

Basically you have an ONT(Optical Network Terminator) at your house which has ports for telephone, internet and free to air/pay tv. All you need to decide is which of these services you want in each room. Best to draw a little map for your chosen installer.

Ours cost about $3,500. But it was on the more complex end of the scale.

He did alright for the price and package we got, however
there is no fancy box like hills or clipsal which doesn't really
bother me as everything works fine and can easily have more
connections/points put in.

If you want the top of the line set up then you will be looking
at over $2500.

Cool, thanks guys. Was worried cause when i rang intelligent homes they quoted me $3000!!!! So might have to ring around. So most electricians can do right??
