Anyone know the cost of servicing an Audi?

I am looking at trading the CX7 on a Q7. I have found two things so far.

The price of an Audi in WA is a fucking joke compared to the east coast.
Some of the stuff Audi feed you is UNBELIEVABLE.

My argument to them is they have a Q7 S Line on its way for $90K + ORC (2nd hand so no LCT)

The same car in the east is $70 - $80K with similar options. Their argument is that if I buy from there I need to arrange transport (no biggy, $750 and it's done) Register the car and stamp ~$4000 and I don't get a 115 point audi pre owned check and warranty worth $3000 in which you can't get unless you buy the vehicle from and Audi Centre.

What I want to know is has anybody owned an Audi (Tim, Jme) and how have you found the vehicle and what are parts and servicing like?

Cheers

Try Pace Motors or Nanzo Valuri Mechanical Repairs, both Audi specialists and both half the price of Audi Centre.

Parts are easy to come by online, and remember... many VW/Audi parts are the same, so pricing isn't as bad on some stuff as you think!

Talk to Tim NVRENUF - he drives a A4 now

Geez the IT game must be doing well Dan! Very jealous, I love the Q7's

Have a good look over east, as we certainly get shafted over here with Audi/Merc/BMW.

Audi dealer over east will be able to give you a full checklist on the car too. It's not something just discovered in WA (although the dealers here won't think like that).

Mum just bought an A4 Quattro which included free servicing, so the service costs can't be that high.

^^ Same here

Mum just bough an A4 too, got it from Audi Central Coast in NSW. Much cheaper delivered to Perth than buying new locally.

We had the A3 2.0T 3 years brand new. Single service per year average $500. Couldn't fault the car, it was perfect.

old man just bought a 2009 a4 1.8t, free servicing for the first 3 years as well. i think that offer is only valid when you take a lease through them.

Thanks guys.

That is good to know about the servicing JME, I seriously thought it would have been a lot more than that. You must have been doing fairly low K's right? I remember the A3 out at the AHG test track.

Some of the lines I have heard come out of the salesmen and in emails are priceless. Reminds me of Keith Chaos - Used Cars.

Everytime I mention over east they baulk but when I ask them where the cars are coming from, they say ex east. I have always wanted a Q7 so I was going to just get one, but for the first time in my life I have done some homework and have found that the 200 series GXL and Sahara are twice as powerful (bigger engine) and so god damn quiet. Also the Prado in a Grande (08) seems like a better car. You definitely pay for the Audi badge as my budget is $70K, you really just get a Q7 TDI with fuck all, whereas in a prado you get a heap more stuff. If I could convince the missus of a 200 series Sahara I would be there right now but she claims it is too big even though it is 100mm shorter and 100mm narrower than a Q7.

We are heading off to Queensland in december, I will look at a Q7 I have been eyeing off in Toowoomba then I will decide, unless I find a Grande exactly the way we want it in the meantime.

The more I think about it, we just aren't budgeting for a Q7 since you get a nothing burger at $70K and a half decent at $95K (S Line). I can not justify spending anymore than $80K on a car.

Euro cars and jap cars are not in the same league. Lexus are close but not quite there. HOWEVER for the money a top of the wazza toyo is nice, but it'll drive like a truck, a smooth, quiet,effortless....truck. And given you swap out cars every 2 to 3 years, maybe make the euro plunge on the next one instead and give yourself the budget to buy one with the frills to match the badge. What about a Q5?
