Business Workshops
Just asking for some opinions on a topic that I have constantly coming up at work.
If you have a customer that books a vehicle in for some work and on the day the customer drives his/hers vehicle straight into the workshop without letting anyone knowing. Does anyone find this to be rude and even disrespectful? Or am I just being over-cautious for the workplace safety arrangements. Haydn. |
Depends if you have a lot of parking area out the front and if your workshop is empty, I doubt they are being rude on purpose, probably think they are saving you time by putting the car in the shop for you, maybe make a point of telling every customer to park outside when they book the car in for work.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I go to a workshop to get some work done, I always park at the front and throw one of the employees the keys, unless they specifically ask me to drive it in.. its THEIR workshop and I'd hate to be responsible for hitting and damaging something by accident.

It's rude and they should be shot. Unless asked to come into the workshop, you stay out.
It just means you'll have to put a chain up on the door making your life difficult for the 1% of people with no manners. |

I see your point and myself personally probably don't inform customers to park their cars out front on the day of the booking as much as I should. But it is quite dangerous and not to mention the insurance if something occured. |
No, I'm really not sure why they would think that just because the workshop is empty that they can just drive on in. It seems rather arrogant to me. I'd be telling him to reverse his bucket back out and hand the keys to the front desk just like everyone else.

Signs & cones don't work...we just had a customer hit some ramps whilst trying to take a short cut through a workshop...........fail!

Or have a sign on the front saying no entry. We had to do it at our factory as we had all sorts just walking in.
