MIG Welder

Entertaining the purchase of a mig welder and from what I have read so far I probably need something resembeling the following:

150Amp
Single phase 10 amp
Gas

It goes without saying that I dont want something cheap and nasty, but there is the balance of $/quality. I have set an initial budget of about 600 for the unit.

I'm Keen to get some real advice about what my options are before getting conned by sales people. Also open to 2nd hand gear if I can get something better for the same price, or even bring the price down on the entry level stuff.

If anyone can suggest what/where/price it would be much appreciated :)

If you want to go for top quality then Lincoln are the go. Talk to Western Welding in Bibra Lake.

Try a Uni Mig mate, my work mate has one its pretty good, not really sure how much units are, but i remember him sayin it was cheap, in UK i would have known and places to go to get one.

Try calling malaga welding in westchester way or road in malaga im sure they will point you in the right direction mate.. they may even have a second hand machine or know of some one who deals in second hand welders.

rule of thumb is about 30amps pert mm thickness of material..

theres another company think they are called needles eye they deal with second hand welders too mate.

hope this is some help for you,
