Hard drive help needed.

I finally got my work laptop back from repair after the hard drive gave up, but the company my work uses for their IT stuff were unable to save anything from the old drive. At motorvation I was talking to someone from this forum about information retrieval from dead drives, but I can't remember who it was.

Anyway, I'm looking for someone who might be able to retrieve the info off this drive -

im more than happy to have a look at it for you mate. have a few tools which i can use. do you know if the drive powers up at all (spins)?

as long as the hard drive isn't making any "clicking" noises and still powers up you should be able to get data off it :)

when you say it died what do you mean exactly? it just wouldn't boot windows or?

Not SpectrumData?? They are amazing with what they can do. Full clean rooms and they can usually source donors drives of the same model/spec if they need to swap components, can get exxy though. Mine had to be sent to the USA and ended up costing about $2k.

Yeah I think its Spectrum

It started making a vibrating sound on and off for a while, but then it started squeaking. When I say it died, it made the squeaking sound and the computer wouldn't boot up. So I'd say it is having problems spinning.
