Default Beach Camping/ Fishing Spots

Wondering if anyone who goes fishing, camping or four wheel driving a bit could give me any suggestions.
Looking for a place (within a few hour drive) to go fishing on beach but also camp overnight. Not to fussed about facilities as we will probably take a portable stove and camping equipment.

Will be driving a Ford F100 and/ or a Toyota Prado so nothing to extreme in terms of terrain to get to the location.

Whitehills is always good. Offically you cant camp there but I have done overnighters heaps of times without any issues. Just make sure do dont leave rubbish everywhere or start a fire and you should have no problems.

Haydn, Wedge, before it get's ruined...

But also, anywhere north of there, Cervantes, Jurien, all have places you can camp on the beach, and fish from your tent's door step!

We r heading to Wedge in April for an over nighter... looking forward to it.

Also worth noting that any vehicle driven to wedge must be licensed. From what I hear the ranger has been handing out fines for unlicensed cars, bikes and buggies for some time now. Off road licenses are not recognised by shire of gin gin either.

Cool

Heya...

Two Spot's i would highly recomend Wilibinga beach (just north of two rock's)
awsome spot to camp and go fishing beach can get pretty DAMN soft though...!
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=-31.4...z=16&t=h&hl=en

This is the sand bowl we normaly camp in if you follow the tracks south you will hit damepattie Dr...

- The other spot i love to go is Wedge Island north of lancelin about a 45min plus trip trip offroad...!
Either beach if the condition's / weather permit's or track work...
Awsome place to go for a LONG WEEKEND...
IMO

Cheers
andrew

Thanks for the feedback guys. I remember you talking about the wedge before Kym and have had other people say the same thing so that sounds like the place to go.

Should be a good weekend for it!

I'm constantly up at 3 mile reef. Its about 10-15 mins 4wding along the beach up from Moore River (Guilderton). Fantastic night fishing! Good for big tailors, mulloway and the occasional shark. *total about 1-1.5 hours from Perth*

We normally camp on the beach (though mate has place at moore river)

On a side note - if you can ever get the time to go to Steep Point.. its the absolute ultimate. Just got back from there.. hands down the BEST 4wding/land based fishing you could do in WA. HIGHLY recommended.

Just before you hit Lancelin there is a wide limestone road that goes off to the left (near the rubbish tip turnoff, go down there for a while and turn right (about a k from memory, been years) it's a winding track that will take you to the point a few k's south of Lancelin, you can either camp behind the dune or on the beach, there is a smallish hump to get over onto the beach and just south of the point there are reefs just about touching the beach with some pretty good snorkeling/spearfishing or possibly taylor off the end of the point.
I used to tow my dinghy down there along the beach and with the right conditions you can get all the way to Ledge, also shitloads of whiting just off the beach.

+1 for White Hills. My parent's and I caught some mullet from there a few weeks back. If looking for tamer terrain try Preston, Tims Thicket or Myalup.
