iPhone battery farked?

Hi all,

I tried searching but could find anything so here it goes.

My iPhone is less than a year old and when I first got it
the stand by hours were pretty much spot on and lasted
quite awhile, however lately it needs charging every night
but always says 300 stand by hrs at full charge.

I'm not making any calls/sms's at the moment or using internet,
due to being OS and I've turned off the 3g option and location
services but yet after a full charge it's dead that night.

Any insights/experiences or info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Wayne

Are you charging it with a wall charger ?
I have a Samsung I900 which does the same if charged by USB or car charger

Yep wall charger.

Installed any software recently?

My battery would die within a few hours after I installed an alarm clock program. Deleted that, force reboot and back to normal.

yeah id check your software on the phone. might be worth re-installing the firmware (3.1.3 or 3.1.2). Is the phone jailbreaked?

If that does not solve it then id say the battery is rooted.

What firmware version?

I had the same issue with the latest firmware.

Try doing a hard reset first.

If that fails, try rolling back to the previous firmware and see if that fixes it.

Only "Trapster" but that was about 1 month ago.

Will try reboot on itunes and leave of the newer apps to see if that
helps.

Where are you getting the 'standby hours' figure from?
Usage stats should say zero standby hours at full charge...

Software is 3.1.3 (7E18) as far as I'm aware, not jailbroken either.

crap, i always thought charging iphone(iphone 32gb 3gs) once a day is pretty normal, and i've been charging twice a day sometime eventhough as it runs out pretty quick, it says 300 stand by hours at full charge but never lasted that long at all, my phone is less than 6 months old....
