RX7 buyer on eBay gets ripped, sets up webpage against seller!
http://www.rippedoffbyrob.com/
Interesting read, and pretty much up to the minute. Keen to see how this one pans out.

Wow - I agree, will be interesting to see how this turns out.
I've considered using similar tactics some time ago when someone tried (unsuccessfully) to rip me off but thankfully it wasn't needed but I hope this dude gets his cash back and more importantly gets his dream car.

I think he is showing great restraint, good on him. It is just a pity that the whole process of recovering his money will be long and painful.

You can't go through life pulling shit like that, sooner or later you'll rip off the wrong guy. He's lucky this time it was a mild mannered IT nerd. Karma.. I wouldn't be suprised if the media jumped on this.

Oh they will, don't you worry. Once these things go viral it's anyones guess just how widespread they can become - Anyone going to Kates after-being-cancelled-birthday-party-party?

I think this would be great on ACA or Today Tonight, they thrive off this stuff.
But in all seriousness this is happening alot, and things like this remind us how risky buying on the net is if you dont protect yourself. |

The seller is obviously a cock head and needs to be shot.
But who the hell would send $500 let alone 4k without using PayPal. And or seeing it first. However the dumb ass buyer should have pre organised a deal to drive up and pay full amount on the spot if seller says no then no deal. People are just too trusting now days and don’t use their heads. Makes me think about seeing on the news all these dumb as people who send money to fake causes and scams, people are just stupid sometimes and don’t use their heads. Feel sorry for the guy though. Tim, your destruction of the english language makes baby Jesus cry
I don't think the buyer should be scrutinised for having good faith and undertaking the required transactions in a timely manner. He was nothing but transparent to the seller all the way through the transaction, thus expecting the same treatment back. Has the buyer learnt from this transaction 'most definately', do I hope the seller gets taken to the cleaners and some 'hell yes'. Eagerly awaiting Rob's fail day in court!
