iPhone 3GS or BB Bold 9700?

Looking if anyone has had both and what are your thoughts?

I currently have a BB Bold 9000, I do love it - but i jus dunno.

Have never been a touch screen fan.
I love the track pad on the BB and I also like the BB messenger option.
iPhone doesnt have something like BB messenger? (free msgs to other BB users).
Also love the qwerty keyboard.
I wont use my BB to connect to my work, as i can access webmail via internet anyway.

I dont really use apps on my BB except for FB. So I don't see myself getting into all the apps for iPhone.

I wanna go buy one this week, yeah im leaning towards the BB but i'l seriously consider the iPhone if its gonna blow me away.

thoughts?

I have an iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS. Guess that says what I think about them.

You can use Ping! to msg other iPhone users for 'free' as it just msgs on data.

3GS is nearly a year old now, so I doubt it will blow you away. iPhone 4G (HD) will be coming in June/July if you can hold out.

hmmmm.
is it going to be the same old with just added HD decoders or something?

Never been a major apple fan, but my wife got the 3G iphone and it is pretty good. I have my laptop plugged into a stereo outside and use the iphone for remote control.....

Also purchased an offline mapping application (for like $2.50) called oMaps which downloads maps to the phone - handy for when you are overseas and do not want to pay for roaming data charges etc. Downloaded the maps using wifi connection for usage later on..... (only for foot based navigation, not turn by turn mapping....)

There are heaps of apps available.....with more and more being developed all the time.

Touchscreen does take a bit to get used to.....but you can tip the phone on its side for messaging / web browsing to get a bigger keyboard layout....

Goto a Telstra shop and muck around with both.....they should have demo models of them both on display.....

Was previously a fan of BB though, minus the scroll ball breaking....

As Kato said, if you can wait out for the 4G, it would be better. No doubt it will be quicker for starters, and all the phone shops will be trying to run out 3GS stock cheap....

Im a fan of the 9700 Bold, more for business use i guess. Also has its own Blackberry Internet and Email. This does not include the net and email from the service provider.
If you are a big Data user you will find yourself saving a fair bit on your bills as some service providers offer Unlimited blackberry Inet and emails for the duration of the contract.

Ive got no patience for touch screen mobiles, and i am really liking the track pad on the BB's.
Dont get me wrong Iphone looks like a aswem phone to be using and seems to be improving in a lot of areas.

waxdass 04-05-2010 03:46 PM

Yeah, I think i'l get it.

I dont use my phone to listen to music. I dont use it for a camera/video. I dont play games.
I just wanna type txt, talk and I like the BB net service. Plus it looks alot better!
And i drop my phones alot... can just imagine the touch screen breaking = whole phone seeyalataaa
