wa is still a fence sitter and they qoute feasibility studies that have shown ethanol at its current grow rate would not be able to keep up with demand in this country and naturally no government body is pushing incentives for farmers, we are perhaps years away from the required infrastruture, which is all a lie as over 80% of all ethanol that comes to this country is actually imported! the qld floods has had a small impact on supply but nothing to cause panic stockpiling (hahaha okay so i bought about a thousand lts!). its still the cheapest high octane fuel available anywhere, just not at the pump

While it still uses 3 times the energy to produce ethanol as what the end product actually provides, I think anyone but the US will be smart enough to stay away from heavily producing it.

yes and no. its like an illegal drug. if you really want it, you can get whatever you want from you local hungry jacks car park at around 11pm, not overly convinient but when that itch needs scratching you feed the monkey!

i drive everyday on e85 and its not that much of a pain really. if you have like minded individuals that share the addiction then this becomes even easier as dotted around the landscape you have refuelling depots only an sms away. in the 18th months of running e85 i have destroyed one mega dollar drum pump by lack of maintanace (totally my fault) and found amazing fuelling alternatives with electronic pumps with bowser ends even with digital counters which ill look into once all the fleet is on corn and supply has never been an issue, just naturally the cost involved.

at 2.5$lt for 109+ron fuel its the cheapest drug going around!

I really want to convert my MY08 to E85, i know i will need bigger injectors and a better fuel pump but i really haven't found a great deal of information that helps me to know what i NEED! not sure on fuel lines etc

But now it has come down to $2.5/L i am ready to get on the band wagon!

Bigger injectors and pump are definitely needed.. 044 and probably some ID 1000cc injectors to be safe.

As for fuel lines, guys in the USA have been running it for YEARS in their Subarus, with no detriment to their fuel lines.. so I’m going off that research and saying that it should be okay

I'm running E85.. I check my fuel lines every time I pop the bonnet, and they’re okay so far

Just the pump and injectors. The lines are fine.

MMS are running their dak daks on it so they should have alll the answers for you.

The dak daks dont love it as much as the emos but there are still gains to be had.

So really you have only done injectors, pump and tuned the car for E85?

The only real problem i have is fuel consumption, no this doesn't mean i am tight but i believe some of the E85 Subaru's can't make it between fuel stops & Targa Tas!
