yeh Joe... dont start with the witty comments..
I just want all my shit back... |
i thought there was a way you could contact Apple or whoever (system support) and they could restore your info somehow, not being an iPhone owner my knowledge regarding specifics is somewhat limited

was it backed up onto itunes? numbers et saved in windows contacts as default
|
No it seems.. i reformatted my computer and just loaded on itunes again then i connected it up and said it was performing sync.. So after it said it completed the sync i updated to 4.0 software.
Where it wiped it all then said there was an error and restored it, but i checked my phone and it was all wiped. |

There is some software out there, but i am not sure for newer phones (iphones). I will have a look around for you. Do you still have the backup files? There is a program that reads/extracts the backup files so that you can get contacts, sms's, history etc |
sorry your fucked - welcome to apple (I have 2 iPhones)
start typing your mates numbers in again, will be faster than trying to recover your stuff try calling apple support as if anyone can help the "magical" geeks can: (61) 1-300-321-456 |
Data recovery software might be worth a look. I've recovered deleted photos from my camera's SD card before with Active unDelete, I don't see how the flash memory in an iPhone is all that different so if it's critical then what do you have to lose?
|
I have successfully recovered over 98% of files once on a fully formatted drive by using File Scavenger (I still have a copy of the umm... "full" version).
Not sure how it would translate to an iphone's memory, don't even know how iphones work as far as hooking up to a PC etc. but if it can be connected as an external drive then the software might work. Also if the memory card or sim card could be pulled and put into a card reader then there's a chance. |
call Today Tonight and get them to help you Tino ;)
|
Go into mail and contacts on your iphone and try to import sim contacts, you may still have contacts stored on the sim.
|
yup tried that already... tried everything..
Does anyone know how to save contacts to the sim rather than the phone. So if this ever happens again i wont loose my contacts.. |
1. Perform regular backups.
2. Store your numbers in another database (i.e. Outlook Contacts), so in the event of epic failure you can sync to this database. 3. Keep ladies numbers in a little black book. |
Tiny only had his mum's number in there anyway, so he could arrange which nights he would come over for dinner... but in reality, he knows it off by heart anyway... quit ur crying Tiny.
|
pfft Tino lives at home
|
haha of course he does... silly me!
|
You are fucked. But instead of saving to your SIM, buy a mobileme membership and have all your data stored in the cloud.
WIN! |
