iiNet offers Australia's first terrabyte plan
 

Had this sent to me this morning but I couldn't believe it at first.

[I]18 August 2010 – iiNet customers will be the first in Australia to be able to have a monthly broadband data quota of one terabyte, or one million megabytes, per month.

Just two days after announcing its 2010 annual results, including a 27% increase in subscriber services, iiNet’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Malone said the launch of the terabyte plan was a further demonstration of iiNet’s drive to lead innovation in the Australian telecommunications market.[/I]

Two points to take note of:
[B]All quota traffic will count both uploads and downloads[/B]
[B]The new plans would be available from 20 August. Existing Naked DSL customers will automatically receive the higher quota at no extra cost. Other iiNet customers will continue on their existing plans unless they choose to change.[/B]

I'm just wondering how this is different to an unlimited plan. :P. Which has of course been done before.

Its still 1TB of bandwidth though, but yes the fact that uploads count would put me on the fence.

Does this apply to ALL of iiNets plans? Or just the Naked / 1TB Plan?

counting uploads is shit, and they have reduced shaping speeds down from 512 to 256. Think ill stay on the plan im on.

I know that for Naked accounts, uploads count. I presume uploads are still at 1mb/s? unless your on anex m (2.75mb/s)
