Guys, thread revival time, I've trolled the net, so many options, basically need it so i don't get slugged again next July.
Hbf is the obvious go to but I don't need extras (touch wood) and they seem expensive for what I need, I have full ambulance cover through my union, no pre medical conditions, don't have glasses etc etc.

Oh yer 23 and NO dependants,

What have you got how much does it cost and is it worth it?

HIF but we use it mostly for extras (physio, chiro, etc) and of course not getting slugged 3x tax. Get cover ASAP - it is pro rata for the year i.e. you will still get slugged for not having cover for 1/4 of this tax year.

Another thing about private medical, if you leave the country you can put it on hold, just have to rock up with your re-entry certificate within 2 weeks "I think" and they re instate it, I've done it a few times with HBF now for up to 6 months without a problem, there are restrictions on time but not exactly sure, something like 6 months on 6 off max.

Obviously something they don't advertise but they don't cover you overseas so no cover.... no use paying.

Not really worth it for 10 days in Bali but it could save you a lot on a long trip.
