Get a Haldex controller, full of win.

Also can get S/C kits and turbo kits for these bad boys and they fly. Very comfy cars standard.

OP: Are you looking for mk5 or mk4 R32? If you can stretch the budget, go for a Passat R36, you won't be disappointed by one.

Not really, just need to go for a drive in one I guess. But why is the MK4 any better than the MK5?

P.s. Noticed there is a nice looking grey R with black 19"s in the yard (made the wife let me drop past on Sunday)

It's a vw the build quality is a no brainer. The new rexes are fantastic but a euro will always be a euro. The v6 sound track from the 32 is hard to beat. Drive them both and make the decision.

The system on the Golf R is a front wheel drive based system but can apparently shift the majority of drive to the rear as required.

My understanding is the main difference between the R & the older R32 is that the R32 was a reactive system the R is supposed to be predictive. Apparently the newer system is quite a bit better.
