John needs a bigger car, the horn goes off for some reason when he gets in the Evo???
More for you to cuddle :D On topic: Interestingly enough the E3 HSV's aren't too bad. Still haven't got the technology of the jap cars though. GTS/Senator wouldn't be a bad daily at all. But $80k for a Maloo ute... Get farked!
Whats a forumsd?
I was shaking so much typing HSV onto this forum and knowing that American Dave would respond in seconds, that I ended up just mashing keys together. |

maybe speak to fatboy, he works for a holden dealer afaik
|
Firstly Wut?
Secondly, there aren't many cars that fair well in the second hand market, doesn't mater what manufacturer.
There's a difference between depreciating in value and having prices drop out faster than an ethiopian chasing down a Mcdonalds truck! For the record John, I vote no. |

Correct i am the business manager at Brian Gardners! The new features on the E3 GTS are off the show, you would think you are looking at a motec dash......... Awesome! I am seriously considering upgrading my SSV ute to an E3! |
Yeah I saw the features in the ads whilst watching Bathurst the other day. I see they now have touch screen Radios!
That means that Holden has just hit the early 2000's in features! Awesome! |

Bring your cheque book! |

They are decent cars, but $74k (base) or $80k (optioned) for a Maloo is just overpriced imo. E3 is a massive step up for HSV. |
touch screen radios and bluetooth dont come cheaply ;)

how about a F6 Tornado John? Much cooler car IMO

In the same way that Justin bieber is cooler than George Clooney? |
I'm loving the tags in this thread!
F6 would be an option. But I'll just stick with the Evo for a while longer I think. |
In the same way that Justin bieber is cooler than George Clooney?
No in the way that the Ford is by far the better car, holds it's value almost as badly and is unique unlike another fat slug holden with some leather, stupid LED lights and a wheezing piece of shit V8 |
P.S Don't get me wrong. I hate both new Holden's and Fords but out of a HSV or an FPV. FPV has my vote for sure.
|
FPV needs a major interior reshuffle and sort out build quality issues first.
|
Have to agree jamie, but for outright performance vs the hsv, fpv f6 wins hands down
|
If that's your thing sure, but who drives stock? :D
|
Those of us who can't afford to mod!!

Hence why I have always bought utes. I had done a deal to buy one 3 years ago but ended up with the cruiser at the last minute instead. I agree that $80k is a bit of a stab for what is effectively a $45k SS with a few bolts ons. I am very tempted to buy an SS next time and put some brakes on it and a blower or tt. The other issue is that in all reality you cant be a moron on the roads anymore. Maybe I am just getting old and despite what kids tell you, you cant drive a car to its full potential on the road and at the end of the day they are a massive compromise as a track car.... Better to have a track car and a 'normal' car for the road. Brendon |
Stuff the F6! The new miami 5.0L supercharged V8 in the FPV GT or GS:
http://www.themotorreport.com.au/50929/2011-fpv-gt-and-gs-launch-review From what I've read it's a seriously "de-tuned car", it's not even intercooled and runs only 0.4 bar! 570nm @ 2400rpm! |

Brendon
There is a new ssv model that has been released in the new series II range called the redline and it comes with brembo fronts, bigger wheels and uprated suspention, seems to be a good thing from what i have seem (might drive one home tonight to check it out!) |
Yeah. In the new wheels they dyno tested the new 315kw gs model and it was making approx 330kws at the flywheel with 0.4bar boost put in it.
Just wind the boost up = big skids!! |

New suspension in the Redline edition (FE3) is on the sedan only, sportswagon and ute get your povo pack FE2 suspension. FE3 includes +2mm thicker sways to 20mm, higher rate springs and retuned dampers. Introductory price for the Redline edition over a normal SSV is $1500 which includes front Brembos, 19" polished forged wheels from the Pontiac export model and the retuned suspension in the sedan only. Normal price thereafter is $2500. Seriously good value mods if you're in the market for one. |
