Iphone Facetime

Has any body used this yet ?
I cant seem to get it to work.
When i click facetime and the other caller clicks it. We both just see our own face lol.

this is if i open a normal voice call then press facetime.

if i dial facetime to start call it keeps ringing even though they have answered

Never used it myself, as no one I want to video call has an iPhone 4.

Make sure you both are in wifi areas.

If its not working, maybe pop into the Apple store and get one of the geniuses to explain it?

NVRENUF 25-11-2010 10:49 AM

Does it only work on Wifi ?

Alternate 25-11-2010 10:54 AM

As far as I know its only wifi

NVRENUF 25-11-2010 10:59 AM

thats a bit shit. I was pretty sure we were both on facetime but will have to try again when im 100% sure.

I've used it and it's pretty good. The video quality isn't quite as good as on the Apple ads on TV but it's still very good.

At the moment, yes, both users must be connected to a WiFi network (unless jailbroken).

NVRENUF 25-11-2010 11:07 AM

Wonder why they would restrict it to wifi.

Alternate 25-11-2010 11:59 AM

probably for the extra bandwidth for reliability, and maybe so people dont whinge when they chew through their data plans.

NVRENUF 25-11-2010 12:22 PM

thats true. It isn't even something I would use often anyway, Was more wondering why I couldn't get it to work.

I could see if you have kids you would use it more often.
