Was told 2 yrs. Had them on for 1 yr.
Then final yr with plates or whatever you call them (The ones that you only wear at night to keep your teeth straight)

ha ive already broken them once, thanks to klinkers and had a close call this arvo the wire came out but popped it back in

I had head gear for a year, was supposed to be 2 years but I tightened the shit out of them all the time.

Then braces for 18 months after that.

lol John - same thing happened to me. No seatbelt on a bumper car - smashed 4 teeth out of my mouth on the steering wheel. Good insurance + a large GAP, and i have straight teeth! :P

18 months I was told when I was 13, I had them for 2.5 years and then a plate, well worth it though
