I've got Invisalign, the clear braces that look more like a mouthgaurd. Apart from the bits glued on to help twist and pull teeth into alignment they are pretty much out of sight. My problem was overcrowding, 4 wisdom teeth out later and these braces to boot and yea, 20 weeks out of 80 completed. As with normal braces when they get tightened, each new set (1 set = 2 weeks) hurts for a few days but then it's just a very mild discomfort which probably has more to do with them being on rather than any pain. Also, they need to be taken out to eat or drink anything other than water. Definitely notice some teeth have moved already but according to the similation video you get with it the real movements are in the second half.

Had for ~ 1 year when 12. Had an extra tooth.

Now, 6 teeth removed 2 year ago then braces. Gf thinks I look alot better. I think it looks better and will allow me to keep my teeth into my old age.

I have Jaw surgery booked in for October. So should be off by the end of the year... I hope.

I summary; they hurt at times, but you will get used to it. If you are anything like me you wil break them alot in the first few months. Then you will adapt and breakages will stop.

I also now bump into a lot of adults with braces. Guess its something I look for now.

Been looking into braces but without private health insurance it ain't gonna happen. I've had a gnarly crossbite since I was a kid and while growing up at home my sister got priority for braces, because like all girls she's inherently self conscious... stupid mum playing favourites!

I'd go for the garden variety train tracks because they're cheaper, don't care how they look because I just won't smile for two years

got mine on early last year, get mine off a year after jaw surgery which is booked in for december,

my teeth are perfectly straight, they just need braces for surgical hooks

i don't enjoy braces when i get king hit in the mouth in northies or elbowed in the mouth playing footy, but other then that you get used to them pretty quick

say no to gobbies with braces, might as well put your dick into a pencil grinder

If she is using her teeth you already have problems.

had mine for year 5 and 6, got them off after then....then still wearing the retainers at night to keep them straight, but definitely agree that sports suck with braces...I used to play rugby with them :P...and mouthguards to fit them are like $150 each!!!!

but worth the pain and breakages :P
