Some great memories of this place as a child.

Watching the wildcats when basketball was huge in Australia.

Movie premieres etc.

It is being replaced with something bigger and better next door, but the memories are what make it special.

I've been wanting to go inside this building for a long time. Went there a whole heap as a child watching the Wildcats, Disney on Ice plus many other events.. Is a shame to see it go, but hopefully the new one will provide similar memories!

Thanks for sharing TJ

Sad looking at those pics! But how cool would it be to get inside there!

A friend is an engineer on the new building next door.

He tried to get us access in December and got turned down.

ImPreSiV 11-05-2011 11:55 AM

I want a row of seats...

My first major concerts were almost all at that centre - INXS, Dire Straits, Billy Joel and U2. Slept out for many many more on the doorsteps including Pink Floyd of which I had ticket #1.

Very sad to see it go.

nauli 11-05-2011 12:50 PM

Hmmm...yes...lots of concerts that I saw there... U2, Genesis, Cold Chisel, ZZ Top, Red Hot CP's, D Bowie and Bob Marley & the Wailers (true!), S Winwood, Oils ...etc...etc...to name just some...

Kato 11-05-2011 12:55 PM

Ah Pearl Jam as a sweaty, pimply teenage virgin concert goer. Then Presidents of the USA...

What times! :D
