Has anyone installed the Darkys rom onto there Galaxy s as i recently had Samsung install froyo 2.2 on my phone and is alot better than 2.1. i have seen the difference between froyo and darkys and darkys is such a better looking format.

my question is has anybody done this upgrade through i think its called odin and is it a easy process

ok after a bit of searching and viewing different youtube videos on doing this rom upgrade, im pretty i have a good idea and understanding on how to do this. have found a youtube video with a full tutorial and links to all the downloads i need to do the flash including Odin 1.7 etc etc.

lets hope i dont brick my phone.

sounds like she is in the same boat as i was. my phone came with the os of 2.1 which sucks balls and tried upgrading to froyo through samsung Kies but gave me the message of your phone is a jp3 and jp4 needed to upgrade, from further searching i found alot of reviews saying Kies is shit etc etc. so after alot of searching and wondering on how i can upgrade, i found out the easiest was to go through samsung themselves. They are located in Canning vale and took my phone and got my phone updated to 2.2 froyo which was a big step forward in regards to what i was use to.

My suggestion is go there get that done and see if she likes it better which she should.

but from my above post i found darkys rom which looks effing amazing and meant to be smoothest fast flowoing system for the galaxy s, but needs to be done through a program called Odin which i will attempt hopefully this weekend if i man up ha ha.

i will keep posted on how i go.

Well Guys i have done and upgrade my rom to darkys 10.1 extreme edition.
The Leed up was very annoying due to having to learnin this all from scratch but my patience and studying paid off. so basically have flashed to jvh base through odin and flashed darkys 10.1 through CMW recovery mode and wallah its done.
The process actually doesn take that long to do but of course i was a beginner it turned from 30 min job to 3 hour job lol but was very carefull and from everything i have read and confirmed i seem to have no problems and the system is running beutiful and will be flashing the circle battery tonight, this rom is very customisable and there is heaps of info and tutes to guide you on darkyrom.com. but yes have attached a pic of my about phone to show all my kernal and rom details but yes if anyone else wants to attempt this dont hestiate to ask myself for any hints or tips.

I spoke to someone from Samsung in Canning Vale and they said that you can update to Froyo on Kies. I can't see where this is possible?!
