So he was flashed AFTER he passed through the intersection?

As I understand those lights in particular, they have touch pads/sensors at the entrance to the intersection, look for white/grey lines in the road and those are the sensors the lights run on, and are activated ONLY if the lights are red. When on amber, it is safe to pass through the intersection at the 70km/h speed limit without getting flashed, because you have passed over the sensor when it was on Amber and have not set it off, it is likely that someone had possibly tripped the sensor by going too far forward on the other side when that guy got flashed?

I am not sure on the speeding side, as I always make a not to go through the lights at 70k/h! or stop if it goes amber and not try get through speeding.

Maybe someone can elaborate?

I would be curious to know as well

Brett

Heard on the radio at 7:11am that one of the red light cameras on great eastern hwy is malfunctioning and flashing everyone that passes constantly. I have even more faith in the accuracy and operations of these camera now...

The new one on the bypass (roe hwy end) is fucked too, has flashed me twice now. Seems to be when you slow down at the red light predicting the change and then accelerating through as soon as it turns green. Haven't been anywhere close to speeding both times.

Also got flashed setting off at a green light on Roe hwy/kalamunda road one.

Haven't recieved fines for any of them (yet) but the fact so many of them are malfunctioning is an absolute joke.

Just saw a camera put in a van on orronge rd. I thought they never put camears out on a rainy day, looks like they despairingly need some cash. I will turn my V1 on all the time from now on.

Spotted an X-Trail spec camera heading North on Marmion about 500m from Ocean Reef road intersection, hoping I didn't get flashed. EDIT: around 4pm (probably not there now, but word of warning)

I assume the whole xtrail/in a back of a car thing thing = winter = can't chuck one on the side of the road as rain would kill it (what a god damn shame).

Considering the cost of these devices, you would expect them to be rated at IP65 or higher, so driving into puddles would have little effect on them.

The Poliscans do much better in the rain than the Multanovas (that needed their own little raincoat)

meh, might have served to either;

a.) soak the wanker setting up the camera

b.) cause general trouble, and,

c.) try to flood the waterproof camera/cover the lens in water
