Ideas for new daily?

Hi all,

Looking to replace my current daily (94 liberty lx wagon) with something a bit more modern and capable.

Ideally I want something:
made in the last 10 years
Manual trans
Rwd/awd/4wd
Up to $20 000 give or take
Reliable
Easily serviceable
Able to tow the wrx on a trailer

Obviously being a daily I want it to be as economical as possible, but still have enough guts to tow. There's gonna be a compromise somewhere, but I'm open for suggestions and recommendations.

All my previous cars have been 4cyl, so this is a new field to me.

Turbo diesel 4WD?
(in no particular order)

NH Pajero
D22 Navara STR
Mazda BT50/Ford Ranger
Land Cruiser
Most of the list will be well under $20K

Pretty unlikely to jag a TD Prado or Hilux in your year/price range bracket.
All above are good on fuel, reliable and have the required power and towing capacity.

I have an Auto VE. Very suitable for towing, plus a wicked daily (no gear change during the week FTW!) Not that bad on economy either.

PM me if you wanna know more Jezza

We have the ford rangers as work cars, they aren't too bad but can be a c*nt to see around when you have a load on the back and are very unstable at the rear.

I have driven works Ranger once - fucking hell what a piece of shit

How often and how much are you planning on towing? We went through the same decision earlier this year. As we we're going to be towing too much we steered away from the commercial vehiles.

We narrowed it down to a VE Sportwagon, Ford Territory and a Nissan x-Trail. We ended up getting the X-trail as we got the Turbo Diesel for a reaaly good price but the 2.5 litres are cheaper.
