Airport extreme setup with wireless router and other apple gear questions
Quick IT question for those who are that way inclined.
I have bought an airport extreme to run the wireless connections at home as the Billion 7800N doesn't seem to cut it with the bazillion wireless devices in our house. We have the following connected; Dell desktop replacement laptop HP Mini (for the kids) 1 x IPad 1 2 x Ipad 2 2 x Iphone 4 1 x Iphone 3Gs 1 x Apple TV2 1 x wireless HP printer. Anyway my question is when I connect up the Airport express via ethernet do I shut the wireless down on the Billion 7800n or run 2 connections? Also has anyone jailbroken Apple TV 2? Is it worth it? Main reason I am thinking about jailbreaking is to be able to mirror the Dell on the TV, if not does anyone have a good way to mirror the latop onto a plasma besides a physical connection?? The laptop does have a HDMI output but the it is not excellent on the big screen. Lastly what is teh easiest way to rip DVD's into itunes or more specifcally onto the kids Ipad?

Hey Shane,
With the Wifi I'd only run one network via the airport extreme. Can't help you with the rest as no experience with either the AppleTV or DVD to Ipad. Edit - DVD to Ipad

I'd use Handbrake to rip the DVD's to iTunes format. Then get something to add metatags to it for completeness (I use iFlicks on mac, unsure on windows).
If one wireless network covers the whole house, then use that. If not, setup one as a repeater or 2 seperate networks. Once the devices have joined to both, they should switch automatically to the stronger signal as you move through the house.

remote on 2 iPhones through the wireless on my Billion. When I switched off Billion wireless and used the wireless through 1 of my 2 Airports the problems went away.
