Default Petrol remote car help

Hi guys basically i picked up a petrol remote control car basically owes me nothing. but it needs a service and prob engine over hall..
does any one work for one of these places or has parts lying around
or can get parts cheap and help me re do it ..

Engine has no compression it starts but shuts off after 5 secs or so all the servos work no problems engine starts but stops prob due to it neededing a service

though iv been told prob easier to buy new engine for $100 and do it that way anyway i know there is a few rc guys on this forum and would love if
i could get some help with it not after big modding it just want it to run nice so i can have some fun with it thats about it

Thanks

Tim

There's a little hole where the filter connects to the throttle body.

Does it feel like its tight to move around?

MY TG-10 was nicely gummed up and throttle barely moved around freely and smoothly. Got some Degreaser and started lubing up the engine.. and de-gumming it...

got a new glow plug and hey presto it works.

Remember to clean the car after use and not to leave unused fuel in the tanks.

Hope this helps.

Geez thats an old Kyosho!!

Definitely worth getting a new engine, any rotary carb .12-.15 size engine will fit as long as the engine mounts are standard and not anything unusual.

I have been told i should get a force 15 mounting looks a little different. but that is prob just a matter of finding a way to screw it in i guess..

Yeah its quite old.. but since it cost me nothing just about i figured it be enough to have some fun with lol.. Ill try and get new engine next couple days..
and give it a clean upstrip the car and scrub it all down and put back together just engine im not to sure about. if any one does these all the time and has some spare momments over weekend day or night and wants to help that be great

Cheers

Tim

Discount Hobby Supplies in Willetton is the best bet, they are just off High Road on Augusta Street.

You can rebuild the engine but just buy a new one.

i got it running would only last about 30 secs or so.
trying to adjust the fuel thingo..

pretty much had to pump it with fuel and almost have open throttle to get it started...

is this right

Was thinking about just taking it to the hobby shop and getting them to fit new engine and clean it all up for me ??

any opinions.

You could do, but just take it along, they will tell you whats wrong and do it yourself, thats the fun of these things, being hands on with them

ok put new glow plug in and runs great.. very hard to get used to though cuase u hold reverse and it turns engine off.. it fuckn kicks though so fast have to have a heap of room to use it cuase u go forward fast turn or nothign else..
have to spin around or let it come to a stop by rolling

is that right.
