Default "Door open" wire tap for alarm in falcon

As per the title, quite "off topic" since its a ford !

I have a 2004 BA sedan I am looking to install an alarm into. I need
to be able to sense if the doors are open, but the wiring in the BA
is quite different to setups I am used to. I was hoping that the
door swiches simply earthed a single circuit like older cars, but thats
not the case.

It also looks like I simply cant put a relay across the interior light either
because when it dims the relay flickers like crazy for a few moments
as the light goes out. This will wear the relay out more quickly.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on where I can tap into for
sensing that the doors are open ? Anyone installed into a BA before ?

I have already posted on a ford forum, but am taking the chance that
someone in the PWRX community knows the answer.

Thanks in advance,
Fobz

The BA isnt on Can bus is it ?

if it is then you screwed... The door sensor if not a physical switch on the car body is possibly tied in with the lock part that clicks when door closes

as above, the door switch is combined with the door lock actuator, running through the door wiring harness. Pretty easy to work out which wire it is. 3 go to the actuator on the bottom of the door lock mechanisim and 2 go to the switch in the lock. take out the actuator and you will see the wires. there are only 3 torx bolts that hold the lock in, so take it out and check with a multimeter.

Got it sorted. Had to use the 4 individual wires with some diodes. Found where the wires from each door come to the same harness near the body control module and tapped in there. All sweet.
