Increase minimum speed limit on the freeway to 100 and use cameras to flash offenders and fine them is my suggestion.
Exactly - Do 100 onto Freeway or get fined for going too slow, don't do 60 then brake and stop in the on-ramp cause its all too scary as the other cars are going soo fast.

I reckon it'll do fuck all, because people are still fucking useless and can't merge whether there is 1 car on the freeway, or 1000.

I agree with above comments - its probably going to be an epic fail and waste of $$$

The majority of Perth drivers cannot merge...i deal with this everyday driving into the west-bound tunnel...drives you insane!

How to fix this problem tho...?

Lanes are hard to add and incredibly expensive.

This is 100% truthful and correct.

Up until recently I was driving 1200km or more a week around the metro area and in general Perth drivers fucking suck - no two ways about it.

all valid points.... our ramps are too short for signals... it would work on longer ramps, but we dont have this, so faiL!

spend the money on traffic education... teach /reteach basic road rules on merging, and most importantly, spatial awareness of you in your lane and the 1-10 other cars around you.

Agree with this, but unfortunately it'll create toll roads as they'll most probably be privately owned.

fail
educating and/or imposing fines for drivers who hog the right lane or doing 20 below the speed limit would be better.

many years ago the was an ad on TV about not being a snail on the freeway. Bring that shit back.
