Not alot to change this year i dont think, may be one or two surprises, pies and geelong still to be up there but i think the hawks will be alot closer to them. West coast probs over performed last year but i pray they are still up around the 4th mark GWS to cop some major floggings. |
Injuries are part of the game but good sports science helps.
The anchor tradition at Fremantle goes very deep. I actually hope Ross Lyon can change that because it will help footy in this state and guarantee we see a new stadium built. Greater Worst in Sydney will cope some big floggings no doubt. They dont have an Gary Ablett in their side. |
Surprisingly, a friend of mine had been writing for years to Freo management to drop the anchor. Or as the rhyme of the ancient mariner suggested "the albatross that hangs from his neck".

I find it hard to say they 'would' have finished 5/6th. The injuries mean they couldn't play at full potential, but who is to say that would have grabbed them a higher spot? Coaching and tactics may be what was keeping them where they were. Every year the Dockers start off well and everyone talks finals for them. Yet most years they don't even make the finals. Can't just put that down to injuries imo. Will be interesting to see how they go under the new coach. |
