I wish i had got the whole shell blasted,all clean,no mess,start fresh.
Body deadner removed with scraper and heat gun
I know a bloke in gozzy thats right into minis.

I think you can buy heaps of repro panels out of the UK. They are cheap too.

Do yourself a favour and buy a rotiserie. They are pretty cheap in unique cars and will save your back a hell of a lot.

may try and do the repairs in sections.

Cheers for the replies gents.
You can get it bead blasted, and etch primed then just work on in section by section. Once etch primed you can take your time with it.

I hope I didn't deter you away from your project and hope you document it thoroughly on site.

Motto = be prepared with great rewards when finished!

As Brendon mentioned above a rotisserie will make life a hell of a lot easier but in saying that with the engine and interior removed there will be virtually no weight in the car so you can live with a decent trolley jack and axle stands.

Old mini's are cool. Do it

Also I'm sure they come factory ready for the rotisserie through the middle, so make use of that.

I haven't used soda blasting myself but everyone I've spoken to has good words for that bloke in Naval Base. Get yourself or make a rotisserie from 2 Supercrap engine stands and a lenght of pipe. Having worked on a couple of sandblasted mini shells there will always be rust repairs required, and you'll be amazed how much sand keeps coming out every time you turn it over. Vintage & Classic Auto Blast in Rockingham are also good.
